O cantor Wayne Smith, cuja canção "Under Mi Sleng Teng" ficou famosa por mudar a maneira como o reggae era produzido, morreu na segunda-feira (17) aos 48 anos. As informações são do jornal britânico "The Guardian".

Segundo o diário, Smith deu entrada no Kingston Public Hospital, na Jamaica, na sexta-feira, com fortes dores no estômago. Uma autópsia será realizada para determinar a causa da morte.

Morreu William "Bunny Rugs" Clarke da Banda Third World

William Clarke, o cantor da banda jamaicana de reggae da Banda Third World, morreu no domingo em casa em Orlando, Flórida., como The New York Times relatórios.

Clarke sofria de leucemia. Ele tinha 65 anos.

Também conhecido como "Bunny Rugs", Clarke se juntou ao Third World em 1976, depois de trabalhar com Lee "Scratch" Perry e a banda Inner Circle na Jamaica.

Ele apareceu em todos os discos do Third World, além de sua estreia. Em 1977, 96 graus é álbum mais popular da banda foi lançado pela Island Records.

Seu maior sucesso ocorreu em 1978, com uma opinião sobre o "Now That We Found Love" dos O'Jays. Eles também tiveram um sucesso em 1982 com a colaboração de Stevie Wonder "Try Jah Love". Clarke esteve com o Third World até sua morte.

Como Os tempos observa, Clarke descreveu uma vez a identidade do Third World."Eles misturaram pop e soul com sons de reggae mais tradicionais.

Clarke deixa sua esposa e oito filhos.

A música de trabalho de nome 'Moonshine' , dá inicio ao projeto buscando espaço no cenário baiano.
