Pioneiro do reggae Leonardo Dillon morre na Jamaica

O líder da banda pioneira do reggae The Ethiopians morreu na Jamaica. Leonard Dillon tinha 68 anos.
Patrice Dillon, filha do músico, disse que o pai morreu na quarta-feira (28) em sua casa vítima de um câncer de pulmão e próstata.
Ela disse que Dillon foi diagnosticado com câncer em junho, e no início do ano retirou um tumor no cérebro.
Leonardo Dillon começou sua carreira nos palcos usando o nome de Jack Sparrow, no início dos anos 60. Ele gravou uma série de músicas de ska, incluindo “Bull Whip”, que tinha um jovem Bob Marley como backing vocal.
Dillon formou mais tarde o The Ethiopians, um trio cujos hits mais famosos são “Train to Skaville” e “Everything Crash”.
Dillon deixou sete filhos.
