Esse ano (2012) é emblemático para o Ska feito no Brasil, a 30 anos nascia o embrião que daria o pontapé inicial para a sonoridade que nasceu no inicio dos anos 60 na Jamaica e migrou para a Inglaterra, ganhando nova roupagem pelos jovens operariados, misturando com o punk e se tornando arma contra o racismo. Por aqui a banda Paralamas, formada em 1982, influenciada por esses sons da 2Tone, mais os ritmos latinos, já mostrava esse formato universal nos primeiros trabalhos, a musica “Cinema Mudo“, do disco homônimo de estreia (1983) & a musica “Ska“, do segundo disco, Passo do Luís (1984). Isso deu o “Start” na gurizada anos depois para começar uma cena própria e formar bandas importantes para esse segmento, criando assim uma identidade brazuca, com letras que mostram bem o nosso cotidiano. Destaque para a banda Relespública, única banda Mod dessa compilação, que mostrou no seu EP “Venda Proibida” (1995) que além do rock, sabe fazer um Ska com propriedade, outro destaque é da nova geração que chega da cidade de Ponta Grossa, Dr. Skrotone & a Máfia do Ska, que fecha o álbum com duas musicas que já viraram clássicos nas apresentações… no mais é afastar o sofá & machucar o sapato:
